XML Data Feeds
XML Data Feeds are currently in Beta Mode. The following documentation is subject to change

If you have more than one listing you would like to display at SearchTheJungle.com, you may do so by submitting a XML data feed. This document specifies our requirements for using XML documents to manage your listing data.

Primary Fields

  • Address fields

    The property address can be specified in one of two ways:

    Option 1:
     
    • Street Number
      Format: Numeric, digits only without punctuation.
      Maximum Size: 25 characters
      Example: <street_number>12345</street_number>
      Required: No
       
    • Street Direction
      Format: Text. Available choices "N", "S", "E", "W".
      Maximum Size: 25 characters
      Example: <street_direction>N</street_direction>
      Required: No
       
    • Street Name
      Format: Text
      Maximum Size: 75 characters
      Example: <street_name>128<street_name> or <street_name>Main<street_name>
      Required: Yes
       
    • Street Type
      Format: Text. Available choices "Ave", "Blvd", "Circle", "Court", "Drive", "Hwy", "Lane", "Pkwy", "Place", "Plaza", "Rd", "Rdwy", "St", "Terr", "Way".
      Maximum Size: 25 characters
      Example: <street_type>Place</street_type>
      Required: No
       
    • State/Province
      Format: Text. Use US Post Office state abbreviations.
      Maximum Size: 25 characters
      Example: <state>KY</state>
      Required: Yes
      Alternate Tags: <province></province>
       
    • Zipcode/Postal Code
      Format: 5 digit numeric zipcode.
      Maximum Size: 5 characters
      Example: <zipcode>66225</zipcode>
      Required: Yes

    • Country Code
      Format: Text.
      Maximum Size: 2 or 3 characters
      Example: <country>US</country> or <country>USA</country>
      Required: No. Defaults to "US"

    Option 2:
     

    • Location:
      Format: Text. Must include City, State, Zipcode and Country as the last 4 elements of the address, delimited by commas.
      Maximum Size: 125 characters
      Example: <location>12345 N Main Place, Overland Park, KS, 66225, USA</location>
      Required: Yes

  • Subdivision Field
    Format: Text
    Maximum Size: 75 characters
    Example: <subdivision>Windham Forest</subdivision>

  • County Field
    Format: Text. Do not include the word "County".
    Maximum Size: 25 characters
    Example: <county>Johnson</county>
    Required: No
     
  • Metro Area Field
    Format: Text. Choose from the list of metro areas listed here.
    Maximum Size: 50 characters
    Example: <metro>Kansas City</metro>
    Required: No
     
  • Status/Listing Type
    Format: Text. See table below for values permitted.
    Maximum Size: 25 characters
    Example: <status>1</status>
    Required: Yes

  • Category
    Format: Text. Multiple records permitted. See table below for values permitted.

  • Asking Price Field
    Format: Numeric, digits only without punctuation. Decimal values will be truncated.

  • Bedrooms Field
    Format: Numeric value between 0 and 6
    Maximum Size: 4 characters

  • Bathrooms Field
    Format: Numeric between 0 and 6. (Full baths followed by a period followed by half baths).
    Maximum Size: 4 characters

  • Image Field
    Format: Text (URL). Multiple records permitted.
    Maximum Size: 100 characters

Agent/Broker/MLS Fields

  • Agent Name
    Format: Text
    Maximum Size: 75 characters

  • Agent ID
    Format: Text
    Maximum Size: 25 characters

Notes

  1. Unnecessary formating will be stripped form data fields.
    Example: <price>$120,000</price> will be modified to <price>120000</price>
     
  2. HTML code is not permitted
     
  3. In general, the following characters are not permitted:

  4. Other XML fields not identified above may be included, but will not be considered for inclusion into the database.
